We have already learned a part about helping verbs and today we’re going to learn Helping Verbs in English – 02

we have been learning how helping verbs are formed from main verbs. we have already learned what kind of helping verbs come from the main verbs “Be”.

Now let’s learn what kind of helping verbs come from the main verb we can say ” Do”.

Let us learn these through examples.

Ex:- I do my homework.

Here “do” is not a helping verb because “do” is used as the main verb.

Ex:- I do not do my homework.

Here, the first “do” is the helping verb and the second here is another “do” which is the main verb.

Ex:- He does my homework.

Here “does” is not a helping verb because “do” is used as the main verb.

Ex:- He does not do my homework.

Here, the first “does” is the helping verb and the second here is another “does” which is the main verb.

Ex:- I did my homework.

Here “did” is not a helping verb because “did” is used as the main verb.

Ex:- I did not do my homework.

Here, the first “did” is the helping verb and the second here is another “do” which is the main verb.

Ex:- He did it.

Here “did” is not a helping verb because “did” is used as the main verb.

Ex:- He did not do it.

Here, the first “did” is the helping verb and the second here is another “do” which is the main verb.

“Will do” as a helping verb.

In this sentence, if a main verb is preceded by a word that can be called “will”, then the auxiliary verb in the sentence is ‘will”.

Ex:- I will do my homework.

Here “do” is not a helping verb because “will” is used as the helping verb and “do” is used as the main verb.

Ex:- I will not do my homework.

“Have” and “Has” as a helping verb

Here “Have” is not a helping verb because “have” is used as the main verb and there is only one verb in this sentence, so that verb cannot be the helping verb.

I have gone there.

In the above sentence there is a main verb which can be called that “gone” .in this situation “have” is a helping verb.

We have a big house.

Here “Have” is not a helping verb because “have” is used as the main verb and there is only one verb in this sentence, so that verb cannot be the helping verb.

we have eaten rice and curry.

In the above sentence there is a main verb which can be called that “eaten” .in this situation “have” is a helping verb.

You have a sister

Here “Have” is not a helping verb because “have” is used as the main verb and there is only one verb in this sentence, so that verb cannot be the helping verb.

You have called them.

In the above sentence there is a main verb which can be called that “eaten” .in this situation “have” is a helping verb.

He has a car.

Here “Has” is not a helping verb because “has” is used as the main verb and there is only one verb in this sentence, so that verb cannot be the helping verb.
